The Sexual and Reproductive systems of the Dra’gal are among the most flexible of the internal systems for the Dra’gal, and this is due to their intended use. They are breeders of a unique kind, designed to bring other species back from the brink, or even from beyond extinction. Because of this, their reproductive systems are designed to be able to be compatible with a large variety of species types.

All Dra’gals are, by design, are capable of being hermaphrodite in nature, and are capable of being either gender, with the biological flexibility to switch between any of these states at will.

The Genetic Library

A Dra’gal will not inheritable be compatible with any species immediately upon first contact. This will initially limit their capabilities to breed with said species, however only initially.

By collecting “genetic information” from a species, the Dra’gal is able to build an internal library, mapping out the DNA or alternative, sequence for that species. This is done via the consumption of flesh, or gathering genetic samples via mating with the species. Often, this is done with as large of a sample size as the Dra’gal can achieve, diversifying the samples as much as possible.

After enough time, the Dra’gal can achieve sexual and reproductive compatibility with the species, and with a diverse enough internal library, can asexually reproduce young with diverse enough genetics that inbreeding is not a risk.

Sufficiently skilled Dra’gals can even ensure specific genetic outcomes, altering the genetic libraries to eliminate genetic weaknesses within the species, improving their survival odds, or forcing adaptation to new environments to prevent the species from dying off swiftly.

This genetic library can also be used to camouflage themselves within a population, blending in to live among them, often to help protect them among the initial growth phases.

Sexual Adaptation

Individual Dra’gals are able to adapt their sexual and reproductive systems and shapes to either:

This often results in a diverse sexual organs among Dra’gal populations at large, although there will be key similarities within smaller communities of Dra’gal.
