Nethershade is a collection of plants that has bonded with TSV, forming a hive-mind of various plants that work together. It is extremely hostile, and should be avoided where possible. Infestations of Nethershade are hard to control and eradicate, especially in later stages of growth.

It is commonly known as the Devil's Garden, and for good reason. A deadly plant with a siren's song, calling prey to walk into it's nest to offer up their bodies for food, or worse. Toxic spores easily render prey unable to escape it's grasp, at best giving a painful death, and at worst corrupting the body, changing it into a minion for the nethershade to use. Even if one is to survive these, they are not safe, for the vines of the plant are covered in razor-sharp thorns, allowing it to cling to any surface, and slice through any protection. Prehensile in nature, one must be careful not to end up ensared in it's grip. Even it's plants are dangerous, small ones capable of clamping around faces or over heads, or the larger ones able to completely encase prey for digestion.

It is recognizable by it's strangely familiar song, and midnight blue glow.

Notable features of the plant.

Spores

Bioluminescence clouds of spores are often released in the early evening and through the night, and is the primary method of reproduction. The glow of the spores is often described as mesmerising, and is likely to lure in victims. These spores are able to take root into most surfaces, but are most efficient when taking root in animals. Should an animal become infected this way, behaviour can be altered to best suit the plant.

Roots

Likely the source of the plant’s ‘mind’, large networks of roots that form within the center of the nests as clusters and spreading out beneath ground. As the name suggests, this is the heart of the plant, and where everything else grows from.

Vines

Primary feeding method in younger nests, and primary defensive method. Covered in small thorns that will slice through most clothing and armour, including tougher dragon scales. Each is able to secrete a neurotoxin to weaken the prey, although often the prey is simply bled. Often, these vines will be coated in spores, so even if the prey escapes, they will fall victim to the plant’s curse.

They are often used as a source of anchoring, especially when young, as the thorns can easily dig into surfaces such as that of a tree, the brick of a house, or even the armour of a vehicle.

Pods

Come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs. Often seen as large, fleshy flowers that are used to ensnare and digest prey to allow for quicker nest growth. They are also be used as a method of storing food for longer periods.

Canopy leaves

Large, fleshy leaves that grow above the nest, forming a protective barrier from the sun.
