A taur-class species, the creature has defined 'feral' and 'anthro' sections, of which when idle, the anthro torso will remain upright, whilst the feral abdomen will remain parallel to the ground. Most unique to this species however, is their ability to utilize both a full feral, or full anthro style stance: That is to say, that they can stand on erect on their hindmost legs, or, move across the floor with their 'arms' acting as legs. As a tunnelling species, this makes sense, as a wider range of motions allow them higher flexibility when moving about in cave systems.
In terms of general appearance, they are most akin to ferrets, even having similar colouring to their fur. Besides the taur body, the biggest difference is the 'wing-like' structures upon their back. These structures can expand outwards in a way similar to wings, if wings could open at the outermost joint, giving them a more rectangular appearance, as opposed to the triangular shape most wings have. The species is completely flightless, with these structures instead being used to aid in digging. At the tip of the structures, are two large claws that are joined to the upmost corners.
Most appear to have three sets of these structures, with one being on the back of their torso, claws resting on their shoulders, the second wrapped around their anthro 'waist', and the third being wrapped around their feral waist. The foremost set seem to be most used for digging, with the others being used for moving debris out of the way. All are strong enough to hold the weight of the creature.
Another peculiarity is their hands and feet. They have three claw-like digits, similar to the Dra'gal, and have two thumbs; one for each side making their hands symmetrical. These designs are matched on both hands and feet, suggesting that they are as dexterous with their feet as they are with their hands, granting them further flexibility.
The last visible peculiarity with their overall shape, is their tail. Short and heavy, it's only function seems to be that of a weapon, with low flexibility and it's short length limiting other uses.
Closer details reveal that their facial structure is unusual for most species. Four eyes, four ears, and what appears to be sensory pits along their chin.
Their eyes appear to be two sets. Front facing, and side facing, giving them the advantages of both predator and prey in terms of field of view.
Their ears are placed with two above the jawline, and two below. The backs are covered in heavy armour, but are highly flexible at the roots, allowing them full motion.
The sensory pits appear to be multi-use, able to detect scents and heat signatures above others.
With these, the creatures appear to have top level sensory capabilities. Despite being cave dwellers, they can see perfectly in high levels of light, and can see detail at extreme distances, placing them on par with raptors of the sky.
Their noses and pits place them easily above scenting and hunting animals, allowing them to navigate completely blind towards prey or away from danger.
Their ears are also highly sensitive, being able to detect movement on the surface despite being quite some distance below.
Despite these advantages, attempts to stun them through sudden changes are limited at best.
