Dra’gals are a long living race composed almost entirely of TSV. Whilst there is little confirmation of their origin, aside from ancient texts translated by a handful of creatures, what is understood is that their species holds a level of divine presence among many other civilisations.
What is believed to be their origin stems from old mythos that is commonly held by many of the largest Dra’gal factions, including the most dominant as of this time. Regardless of validity, the potential powers of these creatures very much live up to the expectations set forth by legend.
In short, they are creatures born of Silvrum, a material commonly called “The Mother’s Flesh”, and this material grants them almost all of their physical and metaphysical abilities. The flexibility of this material allows them to be natural shape shifters, as well as allowing them a level of durability seen among very few other species.
Whilst they are not born with the knowledge of their potential, nor the native skill to wield it, through knowledge and training, they can become a formidable force of which little other can stand against. It is no coincidence that an alternate translation of their species name is written as Dragal instead of Dra’gal, and is commonly understood to mean “God Eater”, rather than “Ark Angel”.
The Dra’gals are entirely composed of Silvrum, specifically a strain of the material known widely as “The Silvrum Virus”, or TSV for short. Despite the name, it is not inherently viral in nature, but is instead a complex nanoweave of crystalline-like material that is able to take on attributes similar to organic creatures. One could call it a living crystal.
This material is highly flexible in nature, and when used by creatures in crafting, it can be “programmed” to form almost any structure imaginable, taking on almost any attributes that can be applied to physical mass. In TSV creatures, this is typically a variety of fluid, near fluid, or solid submaterials that retain neural-like qualities. This in turn forms what can be described as neural tissues, bone structures, muscle tissues, organ tissues, and such else.
This causes a strange duality to the beings. It would not be incorrect to call them a “goo creature” of some kind, as the material is able to shift, altering it’s properties at will to restructure itself, allowing the creature to move or change internal organs, overall shape, and outward appearance at will. However, unlike most other “goo creatures”, the Dra’gal and most other TSV creatures will retain some semblance of an internal structure. Different parts of the Dra’gal will be anatomically different from others.
The end result of all this, is a high degree in flexibility to their internal and external anatomy, allowing them to near perfectly replicate the biology of other creatures to a level in which they are indistinguishable from natives of the species.
This also grants them a durability and healing factor unlike any other. Most of their mass is ‘expendable’, allowing them to use non-vital “flesh” to replace vital “flesh”, and reserve material can be used to quickly recover from even larger injuries. Assuming they have the material to heal, they can heal quickly and effectively.
