Together, we were unstoppable. A new golden age lay at our fingertips, almost within our reach. Together, with my Queen’s Guard of twelve, we stood to bring forth a new light across The Mother’s realms.
What I didn’t know however, was that Erebus watched. Silently, from the shadows, he watched.
And he sent his pawns to work.
I didn’t see when the first of my Queen’s Guard were claimed. Nor the others. I only knew that something was wrong.
As I come running to the aid of my friends…
Before me, lay a memory I shall never forget.
The lifeless form of Innocence, at the feet of cloaked figures. The lifeless corpses of the others scattered about. None of them resurrecting. None of them returning.
The air felt cold, heavy, and dark. A malicious force that choked the breath from lungs. I knew these creatures were stopping my Queen’s Guard. Stopping them from returning.
I wasn’t able to save them.
